An intimate outdoor wedding in Sternfels, Germany — Sina + Alex
I met Alex through my husband Patrick when I first visited Germany, over nine years ago. They went to school together “back in the day”. When Alex met Sina it was really such an amazing connection I knew one day I would be here- at their wedding. When they reached out to me to photograph their wedding day I felt honoured and so excited to be part of so many special moments this day would hold. Sina is known for her creativity and ability to D.I.Y so many creative things, which was really reflected throughout the day. The details were absolutely beautiful. From the homemade name tags that greeted guests, hand written boards guiding everyone throughout the day to the locally found vintage candle holders, everything was well thought through and added a beautiful rustic vibe.
The Ceremony was held at the Michaelskirche which was an adorable small church in the heart of Sternfels, Baden-Württemberg. The reception took place at Zum Heiligenberg, a restaurant located between a stunning view of local vineyards and there own garden.
When the venues are small I always get excited to bring people outside to capture all the natural light. Our first look was held at the Kürnbacher lake which allowed for so many spectacular intimate moments. They left for their ceremony by horse drawn buggy which brought them directly to the church-magic! Knowing that they wanted to enjoy their day with guests as much as possible we planned for a first look early in the morning and directly after their photo session. This allowed Sina + Alex those calm quiet moments together before the ceremony, photos together without feeling like they were missing out on spending time with their guests and a moment to read each other their own written vows.
The day was filled with slow moments to catch up with friends, delicious slices of homemade cake (brought by the guests of the wedding of course) and ended with a sunset a photographer dreams of.
It was an absolutely beautiful day.
Here are a small selection of some of my favourite moments.
